The climate in Gothenburg

Gothenburg has four seasons and everyone has its own charm and since it is located by the sea it has a typical mild coastal climate.

Coastal climate meaning higher humidity then inland and lesser fluxuation in the temperatures between the seasons.

Spring

The spring starts to break its way into nature in late March, soon followed in April by the trees and the flowers when the temperature is rising.

The days start to get longer again.

Summer

June to August is the months when summer hits and stays in Gothenburg with a temperature around 18-25°C during the days.

In the beginning of July the daylight is around 18 hours and it is never completely dark between mid June and mid July during night.

Autumn

The autumn means crisp, clear days but also days with rain and wind.

In the end of October the leaves that once have changed in colors from green to bright red and yellow, starts falling off the trees.

Towards winter

The weather gets colder but stays still pretty mild with temperatures around 0°C. Still there will be clear days with snow and a few degrees below minus Celsius. In December and January the daylight is only visible for around 6 hours daily.
